PAISLEY BOOK FESTIVAL
In 2022, designer and marketer Jen Davies invited me to produce the event brochure for Paisley Book Festival; the following year, the festival team approached me to design the marketing materials for the entire event.
The 2023 theme was 'Remake & Rebel' and, following Jen's expressive inky lettering work on the festival logo, I developed a series of posters, billboards and social media images around close-up photography of grafitti textures. The event launched in University of the West of Scotland’s Union, and featured over 50 authors, poets and event hosts, including a surprise appearance from the First Minister.
The following year, the festival moved to the much more substantial venue of Paisley Town Hall, the re-opening of which I'd assisted in promoting through working as a designer with OneRen, Paisley's arts and leisure charity. With a substantially expanded roster of events, 2024's festival required over 300 assets across print, digital, social and event design. For the theme 'Imagine Something Different', I switched out harsh and bright grafitti for lurid, dreamlike cloud textures, and playful typography substitutions.
